5 Home Buying Tips

If this is your first time buying a home, then you will have a lot of things to learn. The home buying process can be complicated, and while your real estate agent can help you with much of it such as the paperwork and other fantastic advice, there are some tips you want to keep in mind that will help make the home buying experience easier and help you know when you have found the right place. You can learn 5 great home buying tips here:

1: Have a list made up

You should have a list made up of the things you are adamant about and the things that you want, but are negotiable. Bring the list with you to each house you look at and mark down which house gives you what. You can go over the list later if you are stuck between two different places and it can help you to break a tie.

2: Take video of your tour through the house

Take a video as you go through each house and say what it is you like and what you don't like out loud. You can review the videos later to completely refresh your memory and decide which house is the best choice. When you simply take still photos it can be easy to forget just how much you really liked the tile in person, or just how much the small bedrooms bothered you.

3: Don't bring the wrong person with you

While you may value a family member's opinion, make sure you bring the right one with you. If you have a friend or family member who you know has completely different taste in homes than you do then they can actually make you feel not so good about a home that would work great for you.

4: Imagine your things in the house

Take some time in each room and imagine your things in it. When you do this, you may find that you feel like you are 'home' or you may feel like you don't feel right about your things being in that house. This will help you to recognize when you have come into a house that you can be completely at home in.

5: Go back a second time if you need to

If you are stuck between a couple different houses then give yourself a night to sleep on things and go back to see each of them again another day. You may find that one of them really grabs you the next time since you would have narrowed down your search to fewer houses and won't be confused about all the information you have taken in about numerous homes in a short period of time.

About Me

Flipping Fixer Upper Homes

There is a lot of interest in flipping fixer upper homes, thanks in part to the various reality shows involving the subject that you can watch on TV. However, what you see on TV isn't always the reality of this type of work. My name is Mark Chavez and I have worked flipping fixer upper homes for over a decade now. While I love the work, there isn't always as much profit as they show on television and not every flip is successful. I decided to create this website to talk about the pros, cons and truths surrounding this industry. If you have been thinking about buying a home to flip, I hope my website educates you so you have a real idea as to what you can expect.
